LESBIAN ELOPEMENT SAN FRANCISCO COURTHOUSE

A throwback to the year 2014. Some of my favorite weddings took place a decade ago so I’d like to relive them with you. Here we go…

"It’s been a really busy week and this has been the one thing I have been looking forward to more than anything. I’m wrapping up a slew of projects before 3 weeks of insane travel for a few out of state lesbian weddings and a couple of conferences. I HAD to post this blog before leaving. It is too good not to share.

Meet Court and Suzy. Two of my very best friends on the planet. Two of the most supportive people a girl could ask for in this life. We got together recently to cheers to their 1 year anniversary and to a new business idea that is marinating in my mind. A month ago they went to San Francisco City Hall to get married and guess who followed them around the city…ME (and of course my favorite sidekick photographer Margie). I spent 4 days with them galavanting throughout the city. We sure did make the most of those few days. Packed in a sunset cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge, had dinner at Bubba Gumps, snuck onto fire escapes like champs, hiked up a few hills in the cold wind to “get the shot”, & then rented a car and drove to Napa for some wine tasting. I cannot believe the amount of support they had at City Hall. It was like a family. They literally had a cheering section of strangers! If I wasn’t taking photos I would have cried. There were two older gentlemen there alone who were next in line to get married. Margie & I decided to snap a couple of photos for them so that they could have something when they got home. They were so happy that it was documented they could barely contain themselves. Moments like that one remind me how close knit our LGBT community is. I am so happy to be right there in the middle of all of it.

So in case you don’t know this…I’m all about bringing people together and sharing stories. If I could sit around a campfire every night before bed and talk about life stories w/ strangers and friends I would be a happy camper. That’s why I do this. It makes me happy to showcase a couple’s love story with my images. Everyone has a love story that deserves to be told. Love is what life is all about whether you’re gay or straight. You can’t hide happiness. It’s contagious and I hope the happiness you see on my clients faces makes your heart overwhelmed with mushy sap and encourages you to love big and love often. I love you Court & Suzy…can’t wait for the next chapter in your guys’ life. It’s gonna be a good one! Did I mention that their photo made it on Buzzfeed the same week of their wedding?! CHECK THEM OUT.”
